The Making of WOOD
WOOD is our Arab art puzzle, a gift of simple yet refined elements that make an ideal gift for almost everyone in the family, age 8 and over. The beauty of WOOD is in the merging of traditional English puzzle-making of the finest quality, with modern Arab art. The product is a precisely laser-cut wooden puzzle unlike any other. The bespoke design of the puzzle pieces makes it a unique gift and also challenges our brain to assemble the irregularly shaped pieces, not an easy feat.
There are no traditional puzzle shapes here, asymmetrically cut their sharp edges and curves create an enjoyable puzzling experience that is difficult to duplicate. Add to that MID’s original whimsies, puzzle pieces shaped to mimic what we love most about the Arab world.
As you work on the puzzle you will find a pomegranate piece, a lute, hand of Fatima, evil eye and dove and of course the word MID in Arabic. Additionally each puzzle includes 5 surprise whimsies that describe the painting at hand. As you can see, every detail has been carefully studied and seamlessly executed.
The puzzles come in two versions; the 150 piece puzzle is cased in a package that serves as a gift box and eventually the frame of the painting. The box opens up to become a frame on easel for easy display of the piece of art that you now own. Other than the small cardboard handle, we pride ourselves on the fact that the box and contents are fully reusable, as always our commitment to the environment plays a primary role in our product design.
The 250 piece puzzle is too big for a frame and easel and is instead packaged in a recyclable cardboard box and canvas pouch. The cut of the puzzle is much more challenging here and you can expect hours of family fun.
